Radio wave, an essential resource of high-tech future! We, National Radio Research Agency (RRA), maximize the spectrum efficiency to realize creative economy through the proper use of radio wave. We shall develop our technology as world-wide standards and enable Korea to be the radio wave power. (Korea, the radio wave power) RRA will open the new chapter of high-tec life in the future with fostering safe environment of radio wave. Established in 1966 as Radio Wave research Laboratory. RRA grew to be Korea’s leading research institute of radio wave specialized. In 2013, Renamed as National Radio Wave Agency under the Ministry of Science, ICT and future Planning. In 2014, relocated to Gwangju · Jeollanamdo of Innovation City. RRA finds available frequency for new services such as 5G mobile communication and Internet of Things(IoT) and paves the way for high tech based life in the future. RRA coordinates with among neighboring countries to prevent harmful interference and secures korea’s spectrum sovereignty by recording frequency to ITU(International Telecommunication Union) With the increasing exposure of electromagnetic field in daily lives, RRA dose its best to protect the health of people from the possible impact of EMF through making standards and regulations. RRA assesses the conformity of broadcasting and communications equipment, creates the safe telecommunication service environment, fosters business-friendly, regulatory environment, and makes an effort to enhance the market competitiveness of small and medium enterprises. The Korean Space Weather Center under RRA protects critical national infrastructures such as aviations, electric power distributions, telecommunication, and broadcasting systems through space weather alerts and warnings. Countries in the world compete each other to seize the initiative of global standards that would be beneficial. RRA plays the leading role in various international conferences to reflect Korean products and technologies into global standards. Korea, the third nation in the world submitting most contributions to ITU for global standardization. RRA creates more opportunity to strengthen domestic industry and technology in the global market by making domestic technologies as international standard. Contribution ratio to ITU from the member countries for global standards RRA also enacts and provides national standards of broadcasting and communication and promotes people’s convenience and industrial development. Korea! World recognized ICT country! With a great, creative wave by radio wave, National Radio Research Agency, we will open new high-tech world. With challenge and innovation, RRA shall raise values of radio wave to enable citizens to utilize radio wave conveniently and safely, and enhance korea’s image.
